4 - Day Walk -
Mount Banks Upper Traverse
Mount Banks High Traverse Walk starts from the Mount Banks car park/ picnic ground (/ toilets) and heads up along the tourist route.to the trig point. It cuts across to the Western Wall and 500m abseil point and continues south along the cliff edge for a couple of km. This requires a little light scrambling and has magnificent views of the valley. It then arrives at an end to the ridge, and we drop down a gully to the east to join the Mount Banks Cycle Track. After a few 100m south along the track it arrives at Water Tank Lookout. This will be the lunch point, after which we follow the cycle track back to the car park. This is a relatively straightforward walk with great views. It will last 5 to 6 hrs and I recommend taking a minimum of 2 litres water/ electrolyte.

3 - Canyon -
Sleeper Canyon
This activity is targeted at grade 2 and grade 3 canyoners, and preference will be given to those who attended the recent Ropes Practice Day. There will be a ratio of 3 highly experienced canyoners to 5 participants, and this will provide you with ample opportunities to observe club practice and to ask questions. Sleeper is a beautiful, compact canyon which presents a variety of abseiling challenges that would typically be encountered in bigger canyons, but there are no drops greater than 15m. You will experience a range of rigging, rope management, and belay techniques that you will encounter on other club technical canyoning activities. You will get wet - there are compulsory short swims and wades – so you may choose to wear a wetsuit.
