Slots and potential canyon northeast of Twister canyon
Starting at rocky creek carpark we head north and abseil down a slot. Then we cross the rocky creek track and head east onto the Mt Budgary ridge and abseil into a wider slot that leads back to rocky creek. We will then explore the section upstream of "rocky creek canyon" which also looks like a canyon. Then back to the car via the rocky creek entry track. May get legs wet.

RP - rigging and rescue for single rope systems Full
Practice rigging and rescue techniques appropriate for single rope systems typically used in ACA class C canyons. The activity is suitable for grade 5 and highly skilled grade 4 canyoners. Preference will be given to members who have been accepted on the upcoming Barrington Tops Canyoning Traverse Trip.

Galong Creek and the Breadknife
Galong Creek is a special pink granite formation in the Megalong Valley near Blackheath. The walk begins from Green Gully and follows the creek into a steep sided gorge with magnificent pink walls. It is easy walking with some shallow creek crossings. There is a rope assisted 4m scramble down a rockface to the main waterfall. From here we return up stream and climb onto the Breadknife, a narrow ridge that takes us below the waterfall. We explore the pink granite formations further down stream, then climb out on Butterknife ridge, a very steep climb. There will be frequent rests. After crossing the Breadknife we descend into Galong Creek and return to our vehicles. The distance covered is around 6 km. It is mainly off track, in the creek and on steep narrow ridges. Ascent 180m. The walk will be conducted at a slower pace.

The Ridges and Cliffs Between Alsophylla Glen and Noorumboon Gorge
Private property access has been arranged. Park one car at GR 766 889 and drive another one to GR 784 887, both on Bells Line of Road. From the second car, walk north, then north east and explore gullies and cliffs above Alsophylla Glen, then around the spur facing Wheeny Creek, all the way until about GR 771 901. Climb out to the ridge and walk back to the first car, staying within the national park. About 9 km. Scrambling and exposure. Exploratory.

We will investigate and try and find the geographical feature Spion Kop at Wentworth Falls – this may be somewhat scrubby but with great views. Other places to check out may include Cleary Memorial Lookout.
