- Description
- A chance to walk in rarely visited part of the Gondwana World Heritage Area in Barrington Tops. The plan is to start at Mt Royal. Day 1 walk the Youngs Trail to Boonabilla Creek. Camp near there. Then walk off track (up 500m) to Mt Cabre Bald. Then on to Patterson River. Camp near there. Then over to Lagoon Pinch, the start of the Corker walk, near Williams River (not far from the ruins of the old Barrington Tops Guest House). This trip goes through some wonderful subtropical rainforest, but the elevation is challenging. It is only suitable for fit off track walkers. But if you are able to do that sort of multi day trip you will find it worthwhile. I would highly recommend travelling up on the Thursday, so we can get an early start on Friday 2/10 (and avoid long weekend traffic). Depending on numbers I may be able to organise a camping spot, for a modest fee, on a property near Mt Royal.
