- Description
- This is a joint trip with Springwood Bushwalking Club and chance to visit some remote rarely visited canyons. There are 4 spots for UBMBC canyoning members. The plan is on Saturday 25/11 to drive to a locked gate at the junction of Army Road and Coricudgy Road at the Coricudgy State Forest boundary. This is not far from Dunns Swamp in Wollemi NP. From the gate ride bikes along a fire trail (part of the Bicentennial Trail) into Wollemi NP to near the start of Midwinter Canyon, about 10km. Camp in Wollemi NP on evening of 25 /11. The camp site may not have water so each would need to carry about 6 litres of water. On Sunday 26/11 go down Greenup Canyon, 3 short abseils, and exit up Midwinter Canyon, no abseils. Then ride bikes back to the gate.
