- Fortress is a fun little canyon, the view from the lunch spot is breathtaking (and as it is a Friday shouldn't be busy), and the walk out across the open plateau with views on both sides across the Grose Valley is outstanding. The canyon itself has only 1-2 short abseils, but it makes up for it with a few attractive sections. The water in late March should still be reasonable but a wetsuit is recommended because some of the swims are longish. The canyon isn't one of the most spectacular but taken with the lunch spot and the walkout it it is a great trip and one always worth doing again.
