Rock Island is an isolated plateau surrounded Deans Creek to the North and deep gullies on the other sides. it is a fascinating area with pagodas, valleys and slots to explore. It is accessed from the Tiger Snake Car park on the Old Coach Road. Recent regrowth means that 1km of thick bush must be negotiated to reach Rock Is. We encounter the bush again to return to our vehicles. It is a long day. Please note that Sunday is the last day of the NSW school holidays so traffic delays on the GWH from Mt Victoria are to be expected.
