- Description
- This is the second part of our walk traversing the Barrington Tops National Park. We will start from near Munro Hut at Gloucester Tops, head towards Careys Peak, then on towards the Polblue area. Magnificent scenery. We will then head north east pass Thunderbolts Lookout and past the headwaters of Dilgry and Manning River. Finishing at Grass Tree Gap on Carters Road at the north of Barrington Tops. The walk is mostly on track, some parts may be overgrown somewhat. The walk is about 85km long and will be done over 4 to 5 days. This walk will visit some of the canyoning areas in the Barrington Tops but this trip will not involve canyoning. But it will be a good opportunity to gain familiarity with those areas. I intend to organise a separate canyoning trip that will involve day trips to those areas later in the season. This trip would suit those who have moderate or above fitness and are able to carry a pack for a multi-day walk. An extra day is required for driving and the setting of a car shuttle. A map of the proposed route is attached under "Photos" (requires log in to UBMBC web site to view).
